Hoyt Center for the Art (Due June 1)
Hoyt Center for the Art
Deadline: June 1st, 2026
Applications are now open for Hoyt Center for the Art's Annual Call for Artists. The established regional arts center and museum is seeking solo and group proposals to fill out openings in the 2026-28 schedules.
Solo, duo, collectives and curatorial proposals are welcome. Due to the historic nature of the facilities, installations are discouraged. Artists living in the Mid-Atlantic Region, defined as PA, OH, NY, NJ, MD, VA, W.VA and Washington DC, will be given preference. Stipends up to$500 are available to assist selected artists with shipping/transportation.
Proposals are also being considered for the Hoyt Atrium Gallery at UPMC Jameson hospital, a high traffic corridor adjacent to the Outpatient Surgery Waiting Room. Simply check the box for UPMC Jameson if you would like your proposal to be considered for this additional space, as well.
While not necessarily limited to artists age 21+ from the Mid-Atlantic region, preference is given to proposals stemming from Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware and Washington D.C under the following conditions:
Applying to Arts & Education at the Hoyt: Selection for exhibition on our main campus is competitive. Artists are typically established and have prior exhibition experience. You must be able to demonstrate mature talent with a consistent body of work. While most media will be considered, video and installation are discouraged due to the historic nature of the facilities.
Applying to UPMC Jameson: The Hoyt and UPMC Jameson collecting recognize the healing power of the arts and has reignited a partnership to rotate exhibitions in high traffic corridors of the hospital. In particular, the Hoyt atrium offering a bank of windows that is visible from the Wilmington Avenue entrance. While the fusion of arts and medicine is a topic of interest, subject matter may vary. Please note, all work must be secured to a wall. Thus installations, video and 3D submissions cannot be considered.
