Dear AAP Community,

We write to you today with some significant organizational news — farewells, a transition, and the exciting steps forward that make this moment as much a beginning as an ending.

Thank You, Dawn Henry
After more than a decade of dedicated service, Exhibitions Coordinator and in-house curator Dawn Henry concluded her tenure at AAP in May 2026. Dawn was a steady and generous presence through some of the organization's most formative years, including a previous Executive Director transition, and her work shaped how AAP approaches exhibitions and artist relations. Most recently, she served as curator of the yearly Featured Artists Exhibition — a role she brought real care and craft to. We are deeply grateful for everything Dawn has given to this organization and wish her well in what comes next. We hope to gather everyone soon to celebrate the work she has done for AAP!

Farewell, Greer
This July, we will also say goodbye to Greer, who is returning to Philadelphia for new projects. Over the last two years, Greer oversaw AAP's membership program and contributed to numerous exhibition projects. Most recently, they stepped up to curate the 2026 New Member Exhibition, a remarkable undertaking that brought together 70+ artists across more than three screening opportunities. We are grateful for Greer's commitment and creativity throughout their time here.

A Note from Madeline
Friday, June 19th was my last day as Executive Director of AAP. It has been a privilege to serve this organization and community, and I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me. I am stepping into a new role at the Denver School of the Arts Friends Foundation and carry so much of what I have learned here with me. Thank you. -Madeline

And Now, the Good News
We are thrilled to share the steps forward AAP is taking as this transition unfolds.

Isaac Pleta, promoted to Programming and Accessibility Coordinator in May 2026, has already demonstrated exactly the kind of leadership AAP needs right now. Isaac oversaw the Featured Artists Exhibition game night event, led the installation of the 2026 New Member Exhibition, and helped bring that show's opening to life. We are so glad he is staying on and stepping up.

Erinn Batykefer will be joining AAP in an interim capacity to support development and administration. While she is a new face to AAP, many of you may recognize her from her work at Radiant Hall. We are excited to welcome her to the team.

Finally, we are delighted to announce that Christine Lorenz and Centa Schumacher have been appointed as Chair and Co-Chair of AAP's Exhibition Committee. Please join us in congratulating them both. During this period of transition, Christine and Centa will play a vital role in ensuring that AAP's programming continues to move forward with the energy and integrity this community deserves.
