Quaishawn Whitlock: June 2026
My name is Quaishawn Whitlock. I am an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and business owner born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA.
My practice is rooted in storytelling, cultural memory, and printmaking as both a visual language and a tool for research and discovery. The process-driven nature of printmaking lends itself to experimentation and accessibility—qualities that I extend into my curatorial and installation-based work. In engaging these methods, I am able to avidly explore the past, interrogate the present, and question the trajectories shaping our future through an investigation called “Buffering”. "Buffering" acts as a metaphor for both the physical and the psychological attacks that shape of Black identity. This continuously evolving body of work acts as both a visual meditation and a call to action, resisting erasure and fostering collective agency.
