2026–2027 Teaching Artist Residency - ProjectArt (Due May 12)
2026–2027 Teaching Artist Residency - ProjectArt
Deadline: May 12th, 2026
Each year, ProjectArt seeks professional artists who are both committed to their art career and passionate about utilizing their talents to inspire the next generation of young creatives.
Our Resident Teaching Artists teach free, high-quality after school art classes to children aged 4-18 at partnered local public libraries.
Each 9-month residency runs September-June. The program culminates with a Joint exhibition showcasing the student and Resident Artist work at a professional venue.
The selection process for Resident Artists begins in April annually, with the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for viewing to local art and artist networks in the cities ProjectArt calls home.
ProjectArt is an award-winning emerging artists teaching residency that places contemporary artists in public libraries in cities across the nation to teach after-school classes that are free for students to attend. Artists-in-Residents are paid to teach and supported through the national cohort and residency program in continuing to build their own work. This residency is a space where teaching, studio practice, and community engagement actively inform each other and artists are supported by professional development and engagement with our broad alumni artist network. The residency culminates in a group exhibition, for which artists are paid an additional exhibition honorarium.
For contemporary artists interested in expanding their practice through impact and public engagement, this is an exciting opportunity to do both at a high level.
