Gardener In Residence - The Strange Foundation x Moon Rock Flowers (Due Mar. 9)
Gardener In Residence - The Strange Foundation x Moon Rock Flowers
Deadline: March 9th, 2026
The Strange is seeking a few self-driven and creative plant-lovers to reside on-site for approximately one month each, and lend a hand with our gardens and mini flower farm, Moon Rock Flowers. In exchange for 8-10 hours of weekly help with things like weeding, watering, and harvesting, we can offer free lodging in one of our private and fully equipped guest cabins. You can use the rest of your time as you like—as a creative residency, a retreat, or simply as short-term housing.
While this opportunity is best suited for those with gardening, landscaping, and/or farming experience, you don't need to be a professional. As a resident gardener, you'll gain lots of hands-on experience, plus you'll help shape the evolving cultivated landscape at the Catskills mini compound we call Strange HQ.
YOUR COMMITMENT:
• Minimum 2 weeks on-site stay. While we're very flexible on work-stay duration and dates, an ideal resident gardener would be here for about a month, sometime between April–October, 2026.
• 8-10 hours of gardening work per week. Timing is flexible and can work around other commitments, if needed. You'll track and manage your own time.
• Leave a loving mark on the land here. With our input and a small plant-purchasing budget, you're invited to take the lead on a chosen zone within the overgrown Strange HQ perennial gardens and give it your own personal makeover :)
WE PROVIDE:
• Lodging in one of our private residency cabins—either Lily Cabin or Studio House. Read about The Strange's spaces here.
• Learning opportunities. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just beginning to build your knowledge base, we're excited to trade skills and share what we know.
• Space and time alone in nature. If you are craving a gently structured opportunity to do some personal growth while accomplishing enjoyable tasks in a natural setting, this opportunity may be right up your alley.
