Sweetwater Center for the Arts is seeking a artists for a group exhibition in our Mezzanine Gallery. Crafted in the Valley: Contemporary Voices in n Appalachia, invites artists working in any medium to explore and reflect the diverse experiences, culture, and spirit of Appalachian life. Local, regional, and national artists are welcome. Artists must be 18+ to apply.
Crafted in the Valley seeks to amplify authentic voices, those rooted in tradition, those shaped by change, and those redefining what Appalachia means today. Artists are encouraged to explore themes such as place, labor, heritage, community, memory, landscape, migration, identity, and daily life. Work may reference traditional practices or contemporary realities, rural or urban experiences, ancestral ties or present-day perspectives.
