Zymoglyphic Museum Bio-Art Residency and Scholarship (Due Nov. 15)

Zymoglyphic Museum Bio-Art Residency and Scholarship
Deadline: November 15th, 2025

The Zymoglyphic Museum is sponsoring a Bio-Art residency with a 50% scholarship!

They are looking for projects at the intersection of art and biology, particularly:

- Works that incorporate small living organisms (or their products) such as microbes, slime molds, fungus, moss, freshwater creatures, arthropods (especially ants and bees), bio plastics, and soil samples.

- Field biology projects that double as art projects

This project is oriented to experimenting with new media; we are avoiding standard 2D media such as painting, drawing, and illustration.

Timing options:

1. One or two week onsite residency
-  Studio and sleeping accommodations available

2. Extended part-time residency
- Flexible schedule for a longer term project
- No onsite accommodations or studio space

Unlike the Ponder residency, it is expected that you will complete a project that will have documentation that can be presented online. However, it is also understood that experiments may fail!

Similar projects may be seen at http://zymoglyphic.org/about/experiment.html
Other possibilities include soil chromatography, mycelium projects, and terraria (or other habitats) created with both aesthetics and biological viability in mind.

Bio-Art Residency includes
