Empty Bowls 2026 Fundraiser (Due Mar. 6)

Empty Bowls 2026 Fundraiser
Deadline: March 6th, 2026

The Empty Bowls event has been a longstanding collaboration between Just Harvest and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and our return to an in-person event in 2022 was a success and a great way for us to reconnect with the community (more than 1,800 people attended and we raised over $100,000)! This annual event is a simple community meal of soup and bread to help remind people of the one in seven residents of Allegheny County who face food insecurity. The dinner features soup cooked by some of Pittsburgh’s top restaurants, and each ticket-holder also gets to choose a handmade bowl to take home and can participate in a silent auction of beautiful artwork.

All of the handmade bowls and auction items are donated to us by local artists, schools, and other community organizations. We couldn't do this without their support!

In order to donate bowls, please fill out the online form linked below, which will let us know who is donating from where. For making bowls, individual artists can donate bowls they've already made or make new bowls for the event. Artists can organize a bowl-making event with other folks in their network. Organizations, schools, and studio groups can also host bowl-making events, classes, or workshops for their students and residents as an educational opportunity and an easy way to make a lot of bowls at once. When the bowls are ready to be donated, Just Harvest will coordinate either pick-up or drop-off times to collect the bowls (based on which method you indicate in the form). We will take as many bowls as you want to donate; last year we had over 1,200! All bowl submissions are due in hand by Friday, March 6, 2025.

*Please let me know if you or your organization decides to host a bowl-making event, Just Harvest can underwrite the cost of the refreshments for your event! In return for your donation of any kind we can also offer you promotional considerations, including recognition on signage at the event and on our website. Promotional materials may also be placed with auction items, and we're happy to provide a tax letter to you for your contribution.
