Ignacio Lopez: December 2021

Ignacio Lopez was born and raised in Pittsburgh where he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Studio Arts and Creative Writing. He has been published in a variety of art media and has been exhibited at the Westmoreland Art Festival and the Hoyt Institute of Art. This year he finished the Arts Business Program offered by the Casey Droege Cultural Productions and Monmade. With the programs help he formed Lopez & Son PGH, a small print brand that sells in a variety of locations in Pittsburgh and Etsy. He recently showed his finished works at Authentic Intentions: Art Print Debut at PG&H.

His current inspirations take him to the medium of screen printing which are inspired by alchemical diagrams and the Japanese concept of Ma, the space or gap between two structural points. It is these two themes which he uses to explore shape and space to find resonating compositions.
