Anne Spencer Fellowship 2020 - 2021 @ VCCA: (Due Sep. 15)

The Anne Spencer Fellowship honors Anne Spencer, noted poet, teacher, civil rights activist, librarian, gardener, and longtime resident of Lynchburg, Virginia. The Anne Spencer Fellowship provides a fully-funded one-month residency and rotates annually between the genres served at VCCA. As part of their residency, each Anne Spencer Fellow will participate in another community-based activity to be coordinated with the Anne Spencer Memorial Foundation Inc.

Applications are open to African-American visual artists, both locally and nationally. This juried fellowship will be awarded on a competitive basis and the selection will be made based on the quality of the work.

Honorarium: $1500

HOW TO APPLY Artists submit an application form, resume, third-person paragraph, work samples, two recommendation letters (new applicants only), and $40 application fee.
