Artist Statement

 Ruthanne has been a photographer for 30 years since she enrolled in her first classes in photography at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Since then while honing her craft, she has photographed myriad subjects throughout the United States and in Europe. Her particular interests include natural, rural and more recently, urban environments. She strives to look at common objects and see them in a way not usually captured by others. Her photographs are rich in texture and capture the extraordinary amid the ordinary.
