Associated Artists of Pittsburgh 93rd Annual

One prime goal of the Associated Artists is to bring its members’ work before the public eye – for purposes of education and recognition. The Pittsburgh public experienced a great cultural event when Andrew Carnegie built his Beaux-Arts designed museum building in Schenley Park. He opened with the first Annual Exhibition in the Art Galleries in 1896. Since 1911, this Major Annual Exhibition mounted in the galleries of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, has been sponsored by the AAP. The Annual Exhibition attracts 50,000 visitors to the Carnegie Museum in its four-week “run”. Juries for the AAP Annuals are distinguished artists, museum directors, and nationally known art critics and scholars who are invited to select the exhibition from members’ entries. Many thousands of dollars in awards, made possible through individual, group, and corporate contributions, are provided each year.
