Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Present "Unmasked"

PITTSBURGH, ((February 14, 2006)) - AAP Unmasked, a benefit celebration for both local and New Orleans-based artists was hosted by the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 25TH. The celebration, featuring live entertainment, an artist-created "mask" auction and traditional Cajun food and libations, was held at the Edgewood Club beginning at 7:00 p.m.

AAP president Ken Beer noted that a recent report from the New Orleans mayoral arts commission indicated that approximately 11,000 people in the arts have lost their jobs as a result of the hurricanes and uninsured damages are estimated to be about $80 million. "While we can't imagine what they've been through, our hearts have been with our fellow artists from New Orleans this year and we hope our celebration offers some support - not only financially, but also in spirit," he said.

AAP Unmasked, featured Philadelphia and Atlantic City Entertainer of the Year, Tinsel Garland as well as AAP's own Tiller Girls, music from the Big Easy and more. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) for hurricane relief.
