Associated Artists of Pittsburgh "RED" Exhibition

The vibrant theme of “RED” highlights the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP) exhibit, which was shown through March 11th at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.

Artists were challenged to think “RED, simply RED, RED all over, outside the RED box” to create pieces for this first-time show sponsored by AAP. Exhibit co-chair Susan Sparks noted that almost 200 pieces were submitted for consideration and said, “Anytime you give artists a fairly open theme like ‘RED” it’s amazing to see what is created. We were treated to a lot of surprises.”

The exhibit, featured more than 50 pieces by 37 different artists, was jurored by Graham Shearing, one of the area’s foremost art critics and curators.
